Ms. Ruby Cotton Wallace, 70 years young, got her heavenly wings on Thursday January 12, 2023. Born to Hollis and Rosa Cotton in Hartsville, South Carolina on August 2, 1952. Shortly after birth, she moved to Winston-Salem, North Carolina and raised by her parents Rosa and James Fox.

Ruby was a proud graduate of Atkins High School and continued to complete her undergraduate degree in Marketing Management by matriculating at Western Carolina University.  She was a diligent worker who spent the bulk of her career with the A&P grocery chains and US Airways.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hollis Cotton, Rosa and James Fox, brothers, Joseph Cotton, Moses Cotton, Clifton Fox, sisters Janie Lee Fox and Pecola Fox.

Surviving relatives include her son Hollis Franklin Cotton of Winston-& Salem, Grandchildren Ariel Whitt of Columbus, OH, Zachary and Noah Bucek, Hailey Cotton of Winston-Salem, Sisters Thomasina Johnson (Darrell) Cary, NC, Roslyn Fox – NY, NY, Judy Fox, Darlington, SC and many other family members including Great grandchildren, Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Ruby enjoyed fishing, traveling and cooking.  She will be missed by all. Interment services will be at Carolina Memorial Sanctuary, 195 Blessed Way, Mills River, NC 28759 on Saturday January 28, 2023 at 1PM. www.hooperfuneralhome.net.
