Ruth
Alexander
Jan 14, 1934 — Jan 24, 2021
Ruth Valentine Alexander went to her eternal reward on Jan. 24, 2021 after a brief illness at Hospice of the Piedmont in High Point, N.C. Born on Jan. 14, 1934 in Tobaccoville, N.C. to Joseph and Leona (Scales) Valentine, Ruth was the last surviving sister of a seven-sibling family. Ruth graduated from Winston-Salem Teachers College (now Winston-Salem State University) and was a proud Ram. For many years, she was as an elementary school teacher in the Stokes County School system. In retirement, she held several part-time jobs and volunteered for several organizations. "Visiting by phone," as she put it, dining out, shopping, and staying true to her religious upbringing were her favorite activities.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory a host of friends and relatives, including nephew Mark R. Moss, and nieces Phyllis Valentine Day-Brown, Beverly Valentine-Younger, Jane Valentine Locke, Tonya Allen Campbell and Pamela Hauser Artis.
