Ruth Alecia Horne departed this earth on Saturday afternoon 1/22/2022 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital after a short bout with COVID 19.

Ms. Horne was born in Atmore, AL November 13, 1941 to David Thomas Horne and Jannie Mae Andrews. She was the second oldest child with three brothers who have also been claimed by lord, Richard Allen Horne, Roy Horne, and Willie Horne and was also preceded in death by her parents as well as several cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Mother Ruth as she as she was fondly called went to Her last place of Employment was as a pastor for Agape worldwide ministries, previous jobs also included Winston Mutual, Chicken n Honey, Merita Bread Co, and RJ Reynolds tobacco.

Ms.Horne She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter Ayanna L. Horne and four grandsons, Christopher Joyner, Dyllan Walls, Bryson Fox, and Tallen Fox. Five devoted nephews, Alexis Horne, James Barber, Eugene Barber, David Barber, Walter Barber, and one devoted Niece Jeannine Barber. Ms. Horne also leaves to cherish and mourn some very special cousins, Gracie Barnes, Imogene Nelson, Doshia Lett, Hattie Young, Barbara Patterson, Bennie Lee Patterson, Gregory Patterson. Some very special goddaughters Denise Hardin, Doris Skipwith, and Pamela Taylor who will be welcoming her godmother home after the gates., godsons Jermaine Taylor, William Miller, and Kenneth and Vincent Crosby.. And many more sons and daughters.

The family would also like acknowledge Ruth's fellow prayer warriors with PGN, countless servants of God who went before the Lord in prayer countless times for others, and also for the healing of our dear sister, mother, and Friend whose prayers were heard and answered as the Lord saw fit to take her back with him to Glory. There are more sons, daughters and friends since she knew no strangers.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday February 5, 2022 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:30pm-2:00pm at the funeral home.
