Ruth Williams Wilson, the daughter of the late Randle Williams and Alberta Greg, was born in Bishopville, SC on October 20, 1930.  She departed this life peacefully on June 5, 2022, at age 91. Ruth was the first-born child.  She had eight younger siblings.

Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.  She was married to the late Willie James Wilson for 62 years.  Ruth spent her life helping to take care of others.  Ruth worked briefly as a homemaker, and then she stayed at home to take care of the household. There was no such thing as the term "stay at home mom" during her era, but Ruth assisted her family with pride. She cared deeply for her family and neighbors. Ruth did do this out of obligation, but out of the kindness of her heart.  If you were hungry, she would always feed you.

She is survived by five grandchildren Patricia, Christopher, Twana Williams, Wilbert Fields, Jr. and her devoted granddaughter Shantae (Ernest) Britton of Decatur, GA; twelve great grandchildren, a daughter- in-law Kaye Williams, a sister Genia Anthony (Bishopville, SC), a brother Sammy Greg (Patterson, NJ), and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends 2:30pm Saturday, June 11, 2022 in Hooper Funeral Home chapel with the funeral service following at 3pm.
