Sadie Hairston, a devoted wife, and mother was born February 26, 1939, to the late Mildred Hairston of Winston Salem, NC.

She departed this earthly life on April 17, 2024, at the Brian Rehabilitation Center.  She was a graduate of Atkins High School. She worked at Hanes Hosiery for several years.

She was a faithful and lifelong member of New Bethel Baptist Church until her declining health. She is preceded in death by her, loving husband of 56 years, Lester Hairston Sr., and son Stanley Hairston.

Also, two sisters Peggy Conrad and Kennetta Thompson; and one brother Anthony Hairston, and in-laws.

She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Iris McCree; four sons Steven(Valerie)Hairston; Micheal Hairston; and Timmothy Hairston all of the city. Lester Hairston Jr. of (Houston TX). One sister Andrea Hairston(New York) and 9 grand Children; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; a host of relatives and friends. A devoted friend Jean Taylor.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday April 24, 2024 at New Bethel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 12pm-1pm at the church. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory.
