Obituary

Sharon Delois Conrad of Winston-Salem, NC went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

Sharon was born in Winston-Salem to Shirley Myers Conrad and the late Leonard Conrad, Sr. Sharon graduated from Parkland High School and attended Appalachian State University for three years, where she majored in political science and was on the Dean’s List all three years.

Sharon was an avid and attentive listener who remembered dates and times that others had forgotten. More importantly, Sharon loved Jesus and therefore people. She communicated her love for everyone in the most beautiful way. Whenever anyone said to Sharon, “I love you,” she would always say, “I love you more.”

Sharon was a servant. She served as a reminder of the power of God; she served as a reminder that even with limited ability, you can do something to make other’s lives better; she served as a reminder that we should not make complaining a habit; she served as a reminder that we should love God even if our lives are hard; she served as a reminder that we can worship God at home; she served as a reminder that we must humble ourselves to get help when we need it; she served as a reminder that when your family and friends are in pain, you just show up.

Sharon is survived by her loving mother, Shirley Conrad, who has taken care of her faithfully for the last 30 years.

Sharon is also survived by her siblings: Leonard Conrad Jr. (Pam), Ronald Conrad (Alexis), Gregory Conrad (Angela), Sheryl Cozart (James), Sheree Paden (Raymond), a dedicated aunt, Gloria George, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and loving friends.

The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to all of Sharon’s aides who comforted her through their dedication and friendship through the years. Your kindness to Sharon and Shirley has been invaluable, and we send peace and blessings to you all.

Sharon’s memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday September 10, 2026 at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am-12:00 pm at the church Thursday. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.   Her remains may be viewed Wednesday from 12pm-5pm at the funeral home.

“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalm 91:1
