Obituary

Hallelujah! On Saturday, the 26th day of March 2022, God received one of his most devoted worshippers, Sharon Ann Stephens. Oh, how she loved the name, Jesus!

Sharon "Ms. Brookstown" was born on January 14, 1959 to Wilbert Thompson, Sr. and the late Rose Lee Stephens. She was preceded in death by brothers, Rondell Stephens, Leonardo Stephens, and Will (Skeet) Litaker. She is survived by her son, Alcadia "Nookie" Stephens; former spouse, Frank Manley; brothers, William Lawrence Stephens, Eric Litaker, David Page, Anthony Walker, and Wilbert Thompson, Jr.; sisters, Rosa (Sherman) Funderburk, Audrey Stephens, Angela Stephens, Trina Stephens, and Earnestine O'Neal; grandchildren Donte, Quientrell, Savannah, and Delilah; aunt, Lois Frost, and friend, Ulysses Burrage along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was a member of The Field of God Outreach Church Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Donald E. Keaton and First Lady Vickie Keaton. She was a very kind-hearted soul, who loved helping others. She would go to yard sales and always found something she knew her sisters would like and would ultimately buy it for them. In her apartment complex, she often ministered to other residents and provided food for those less fortunate.

Sharon was educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County schools and had an earlier career in healthcare. Everyone who knew Sharon, knew she had the gift of gab, before you could get one word in, she was already hanging up the phone. She was also a fashionista who loved to dress up, and could melt anyone's heart with her bright eyes and lovely smile.

Funeral services will be held 12pm Saturday, April 2, 2022 in Hooper Funeral Home chapel.

The family would like to thank her praying partner, Melvina and her healthcare nurses, Sharonna and Kim.
