Shirley Ann Webster Brooks, was the sixth of nine children born to the late Alfred D. Webster and Lillie Goolsby Sheppard. She was born on March 7, 1936 and departed this life peacefully in her sleep on the morning of Tuesday, April 22, 2025 in her home in Walkertown.
She was educated in the Stokes County School System. Shirley married the late Alfred Turner Brooks in 1961. She worked at Kaiser Roth Industries in Kernersville as a seamer until her retirement.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Alfred, Lillie and her siblings David "Buster" Webster, Jr., Catherine "Cat" W. Martin, Sallie W. Hairston, Cornelle "Doc" Webster, Marva W. Sheppard, Marquice W. Tatum, Alvester W. Sheppard and Alice Beatrice Webster
Remaining to cherish her memories and the way she could make you laugh like no one else are her four children; daughter, Vanessa Yvette Brooks and son Chad Brooks of the home, Chris (Monique Denee') Brooks, Marvin (Angie) Brooks of Walkertown; two granddaughters, Brittney (Daron) Lowery, Logan Grace Brooks; four grandsons, Christopher Brooks, Jordan Brooks, Gregory (Jasmine) Brooks, and Koury Brooks; two great grandchildren; Elijah Lowery, Rianne Brooks, and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends
Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon Friday April 25, 2025 at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory Walkertown, The family will receive friends Thursday evening April 24, 2025 from 6pm-8pm at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
