Ms. Sonya Renee Hauser was born May 1, 1964 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Clarence Hauser and the late Clara M. Hauser. She was a graduate of Drewry Mason High School, Ridgeway, VA. While in high school she was a cheerleader and she also traveled to Paris France. Growing up she was a part of the marching 100's dance group with the YMCA. Sonya matriculated to the University of Virginia. While there she was in Who's Who of American College Students.

Sonya had been an avid bowler and loved to read which was evident with her membership in the Ebony Bonding Book Club (EBBC). She also loved her fur babies Bella and Gunky.

She had previously worked for American Express Inc. Greensboro, NC and Industries for the Blind (IFB) Winston-Salem, NC.

Spiritually, she was a member of Transformation Ministries, where she formerly served as the church clerk.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Derrick Hauser.

Sonya departed this life Friday July 29, 2022 at Novant Health Medical Center.

Dear memories will be cherished by her son, Jordan Hauser of the home; her father, Clarence (Annette) Hauser; sisters, Sheaundra Martin and Sheila Hauser; brothers, Gerard (Nicki) Hauser; Jaime Williams, uncles, Jimmy McClinton and Clatis McClinton, Jr.; aunt, Velma Hauser; devoted cousins, Carolyn Hallums and Kenneth Smith; devoted stepmom Vern Hauser "Memom"; special friends, Sabrina Stowe and Stacy Gay; other relatives and dear friends.

A Service of Memory will be held 12:30 pm Saturday August 6, 2022 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home.
