I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
On Monday, May 31, 2021 our Lord and Savior decided it was time to call Steven Rayshawn Keaton "Shawn" to join him in his heavenly home. Shawn was born November 5, 1983 to Steven R. Keaton and Cheryl T. Massey of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Clarence Keaton, Clifton Shaw Sr., Donald Lee Jones, Willie Mae Ross, and Hattie Mae Shaw. Devoted aunt Terry L. Shaw and Uncle Benjamin B. Shaw.
Shawn graduated May 27, 2005 from C. Douglas Carter Vocational High School, Winston-Salem, NC after high school he went on to do volunteer services for multiple organizations in the Winston-Salem area. Spiritually, he was was baptized at a young age. He had his own relationship with God and was a member of Union Baptist Church WS, NC. Shawn loved his family. He loved music of all genres, but his favorite song was "WILD, WILD WEST" (Kool Mo Dee). When this song came on you could find him at any moment "rocking" to the beat.
Shawn leaves to cherish his memories, his mother Cheryl T. Massey; sister/Cousin Jasmine M Shaw of the home; father, Steven R. Keaton of Winston-Salem, NC; devoted cousins who loved and adored him Artanza Shaw, DeShawn Shaw, Nicole Tate , Kelvin (LaNette) Shaw and Elijah Dickerson of Metter, GA and Adin Shaw of Charlotte, NC; step siblings: Selina (Damion) Galloway, Keon Massey and Brittney (Vernon) Williams; five aunts, Arlene (Charles) Tate, Delane (Reginald) Jackson, Keisha (Ryan) Horton, Donna (Maurice) Taylor, Dtondja (Michael) McCoy Foster; four uncles, Clifton Shaw Jr.,Donald (Rosalyn) Young, James Hamm and David Ross Jr; one Nephew, Xxavier Galloway; three niece's, Aaleyah Galloway, Jade & Jordan Williams; other relatives and dear friends.

A public viewing will be held Friday June 4, 2021 at Hooper Funeral Home from 12pm-6pm. The family will receive friends Saturday June 5, 2021 at 11:00am at Hooper Funeral Home Chapel with services to follow at 11:30am.
