Mr. Terry E. Jackson, affectionately known as "Bull" was born August 1, 1954 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Robert Jr. and Corrie Reader Jackson. He was a 1973 graduate of R. J. Reynolds High School where he played football and basketball. After graduation he served in the United States Air Force for twelve years achieving his Staff Sergeant ranking along with many other accolades. Upon completion of his military service, he returned to Winston-Salem and was employed by Integon / National General Insurance Companies. He reunited with his high school sweetheart and out of that union they had two sons.
He was predeceased by his parents, Robert Jr. and Corrie Jackson; one daughter, LaQuanda Noble and two sisters, Patricia Samuels and Gloria Reader.
Mr. Jackson was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the "UNC" Carolina Tar Heels, Los Angeles Rams along with the Los Angeles Lakers.
His radiant smile and caring heart was shared with everyone he met along with his sense of humor. He was a great husband and a wonderful and caring father. He was a beacon of light to all he met and was always willing to help those in need.
Mr. Jackson departed this earthly life Saturday March 15, 2025 at his home.
He leaves everlasting cherished memories with his wife of 42 years, Denise J. Jackson of the home; two sons, Jamil (Jocelyne) Jackson and Jarvis Jackson; a daughter Latasha (Kareem) Fleming; 10 grandchildren; great grandchildren all of the city; three brothers, Bobby Reader, Arthur (Wanda) Reader and Tobe ( Janet) Jackson; one uncle, John Reader; a devoted sister-in-law, Priscilla McDuffie; and fond memories are held by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am Tuesday March 25, 2024 at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 11:00am-11:30am Tuesday at the church.
Interment will be held Wednesday March 26, 2025 at the Salisbury National Cemetery.
