Ms. Thelma Mae Tindal was born June 23, 1923 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to the late Perry and Mamie Chambers Nickens. She attended the Winston-Salem Forsyth County public schools. Ms. Tindal was a retiree of NC Baptist Hospital with over 30 years of service. Spiritually she was a member of St Stephen Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Mother's Board, Gospel Choir and Sunday school department. In the community, she was a faithful member of the Brown & Douglas Seniors Club. Ms. Tindal loved cooking for her family, reading, gardening and a variety of crafts. She also helped and served other seniors.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Tindal; four children; James Correll Tindal, Gloria Jean Nickens, Patricia Ann Tindal and Selina Mae Young; a granddaughter, Genina Tindal Massey and siblings. She departed this life Wednesday February 8, 2023 at Novant Health Hospital in Thomasville, NC.
Survivors include her daughter, Angela Tindal; grandchildren Reginald Tindal, Frederick Tindal, Ernest Tindal, Tonia Tindal, James Tindal Sr. and Lionel Young; a host of great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including a special friend, Gloria Glenn.
Funeral services will be held 12:30pm Friday February 17, 2023 at St Stephen Missionary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 12pm-12:30pm at the church.
