Obituary

Ms. Thelma Jannaie Westbrook was a born June 3, 1960 in Hickory, North Carolina to Ralph and Emma Jean Westbrook.  She grew up in Chicago, IL and later movcd to Winston-Salem, NC where she resided for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter, Christal LaToya McCravy Winbush.

Ms. Westbrook was very active in the community. She served on the borad of ESR, Baby Love Baby Love plus, and the Housing Department of Winston-Salem. She was a family advocate of Carter G. Woodson School.

She was a graduate of Winston-Salem State University and while there served on the Relief of HIV Aids Africa campaign. Fraternally, she had been a  member of the Order of the Eastern Star as well as Daughters of Isis.

Ms. Westbrook departed this life Sunday May 30, 2021 at Trellis Supportive Care Center.

She is survived by her husband Walker Webster; two daughters. Sade Monique Aqulia Moore(Christopher Barnes) and Octavia Pearl Westbrook; eight grandchildren, Israel Moore, Gabrielle McCravy, Christopher, Melody and Travis Barnes, Kayla Westbrook,Artis Winbush and Travon Jones;devoted aunts, Thelma Russell. Barbara Brown, Willie May Stowe; devoted uncle Benjamin (Joyce) Brown, goddaughter, Taiyonna Graham; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Sunday June 6, 2021 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home. A public viewing will be held Saturday June 5, 2021 from 12pm-6pm at Hooper Funeral Home.
