Mr. Thurmond A. Ford was born February 21, 1931 in Winston-Salem North Carolina to the late Myrtle Ford. He attended the Forsyth county public schools and was a graduate of Winston-Salem Teachers College now WSSU. He was retiree of the City of Winston Salem, Housing and Development. Spiritually, he was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist where he served faithfully.

Mr. Ford was a veteran of the United Sates Army. Fraternally, he was a member of Phi Beta Sigma Inc. and James H. Young Memorial Lodge #670 PHA.

He departed this life Thursday September 26, 2019 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.

He is survived by his loving wife of the home Billie Ford; a son, Roger (Brenda)Ford Davis of Stone Mountain, GA; two stepdaughters, Angela Baker of Clemmons, NC  and  Jean Miller of Rural Hall, NC; five grandchildren, Farran Davis, Jameil Baker, Jonathan Gregory, Donee Baker and Ebony Miller; three great grandchildren, Lauryn Jackson, Noah Baker and Olivia Baker; and a host of other relatives and close friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Tuesday October 1, 2019 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm-1:00pm at the church.
