Mr. Thurmon Smith was born May 23, 1944 in Clinton, North Carolina to Lewis and Gertrude Marshall Smith. He spent most of his life in New Jersey before moving to Winston-Salem, North Carolina eleven years ago. Mr. Smith was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife Delores Smith, daughter, Crystal Lynette Smith, brother Ronson Lee and sister, Emily Louise Smith Williams.

Mr. Smith departed this life Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Forsyth Medical Center.

He is survived by one son, Thurmon Smith Jr. of the home; two grandchildren; Scharmaine Burch and Damon Lugo; one sister. Geraldine (Vernon) Williamson, a twin brother, Herman (Mary) Smith all of the city; three aunts, Pearline Blue and Delores Moses both of Fayetteville, NC and Elease Hayes of Clinton, NC; a devoted niece, Tonya Belvin of the city; and a host of other nieces, nephews. Other relatives and friends.

A Service of Memory will be held Monday January 27, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home.
