Obituary

Ms. Wanda Jane Potter was born  September 17, 1952, to the late Rufus Potter, Sr. and Mary Florence Potter in Forsyth County.  She took flight from this earthly home to her heavenly home on Saturday July 23, 2022.

Ms. Potter attended the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools and was a 1972 graduate of West Forsyth High School.

Ms. Wanda Jane Potter was well known in the city and was a faithful soldier for the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. & Mrs. Rufus Potter, Sr., two sisters Mary Lee Pollard, Linnie Wyche.  In addition, five brothers; Rufus Potter, Jr., Thomas Smith Potter, Elder Carl Potter, and Reginald Potter and Anthony Tyrone Potter.

Ms. Potter leaves to cherish precious and lovely memories, one daughter, Noakia  LaShone Potter and one son, Charles Gore, Jr. both of the city; three devoted grandchildren, Alexis Thomas Taylor(Stephon) of Atlanta, GA, Aleshia Thomas and Aliyah Thomas both of the city; one grandson, Marquis Jones of the city; a lovely great granddaughter, Skylar Amerie Taylor of Atlanta, GA;  five sisters Martha Lee Chapman (Johnny), Lille Mae Stone (Hilton), Blondella Johnson Parks (James), all of the city,  Betty Jean Wilson of Oxen Hill, Maryland and Verdeen Brown of Lakeland, Florida; one Brother, Mr. Johnny MC Potter of the city. She leaves to cherish a devoted friend, Mr. Charles Gore and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many, spiritual and devoted friends.

Ms. Potter's love for her family and all the lives she touched will be greatly missed, but the sweet humble memories of her will live forever.

Funeral services will be held 3pm Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022 in Hooper Funeral Home chapel.
