William Roger Richardson affectionately known as "Butch'' by all who knew him passed away on the morning of Tuesday Feb 27,2024 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist of Winston-Salem.
William was born July 4, 1955 here in the city of Winston-Salem. A graduate of North Forsyth High School, William was a retiree of Taylor Brothers Tobacco Company. He spent many more additional years in the workforce including Mannington Flooring Corporation of High Point, N.C. before its dissolution, Supervisory Staff at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center of High Point before taking on the full time job of "Girl Dad" in 2008.
William's favorite pastimes were spent with "his girls" firing up his grill & smoker, fishing on weekends "with Dawg" and watching the ACC, NBA, and NFL Sports and getting his blood pressure up behind "Dem Cowboys"!
William was a past church member Of John Wesley A.M.E Zion Church where he served on Steward and Usher Board before becoming a church member of Trinity Chapel Church until his passing. By the Holy Spirit, the Christian love, and pastoral support that surrounded him, he was able to perform the duties that were assigned to him faithfully and true serving support to the Deacon Board, Director of Adult & Youth Usher Board, along with providing church security. During his time spent in service and even during his health challenges while he was away, he remained dedicated and connected to the church and his church family.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Vonnetta "Netta" Scales.
In his passing he leaves to mourn his wife Mrs. Stephanie Richardson, his daughter Miss Zyon Richardson, one grandson Mr. Dante Scales, one son Mr. Lamont (Jennifer) Scales; in addition to his family circle of sisters, brothers, brothers and sisters in law, and mother in law; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, "his pastor" and Trinity Chapel Church family.

"Celebration of A Life" Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 At Trinity Chapel Church 1410 Douglas Street, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27105. Family Visitation will be 12:00 Noon-12:30pm with the Memorial service following at 12:30p.m.
