Mr. Willie Edward Patterson was born October 14, 1955 in Society Hill, SC to the late Frank  Edward Sr. and Ida Mae Miles Patterson. He attended the public schools there in Darlington, SC. Mr. Patterson loved fishing. Music

and playing the numbers. He was employed by Winston-Salem State University where he worked in food services.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother. Frank Patterson, Jr..

Mr. Patterson departed this life Thursday November 11, 2021 in Chapel Hill,  North Carolina.

He is survived by his children, Tori Patterson, Chapel Hill, NC, Whitley Patterson, Durham, NC, Willie Patterson Jr. and Phillip Patterson both of Chapel Hill, NC and Richard Nelson of Winston-Salem, NC; six grandchildren, Maquai Nelson, Jezani'ah Patterson, EJ Nelson, Trinity King, Malachi Patterson and Jhace Patterson; one brother, Ernest Patterson of Winston-Salem, NC; four sisters, Marilyn Sawyer, Debbie P. Jones, Cheryl Landingham and Shelia Coker all of Winston-Salem, NC; a devoted companion Tania Patterson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Service of Memory will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday November 30, 2021  in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home.
