Ms. Grace Love Walker Springs was born June 7, 1924 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Ernest and Florence Walls Walker. A lifelong resident of Winston-Salem, she was a graduate of Atkins High School and later attended Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville, NC. Ms. Springs was a retiree of Thomasville Furniture, a former member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, and most recently was a member Winston-Salem First Assembly of God where she served with the Seniors' Ministry. In the community, she was a member of the Castle Heights Community Club. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Viotis A. Springs, Sr.; three sons, Basil "Ed" Brown, Ernest Samuel Brown, and Viotis A. Springs, Jr.; five siblings; and daughter-in-law, Freda Springs. She departed this life Friday, December 21, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Health Medical Center. Surviving are a daughter, Avis Florence Brown-Williams; two sons, Jerry Springs and Kenneth Springs; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; four great- great grandchildren; two devoted daughters-in-law, Judy Brown and Linda Brown; devoted cousin, Pastor Christopher McCoy; devoted friends, Pastor Michael Johnson, Loretta Davis, George Sellars, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Winston-Salem First Assembly of God, 3730 University Parkway. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
