Mr. John Robert Shell was born in Laurens, SC to the late Robert C. and Bessie L. Shell. Mr.Shell was a skilled construction worker by trade. He attended the public schools and was a graduate of Surry Community College. He was preceded in death by a son, Master Stephon Hayes and brother Waddell Shell. Mr. Shell is survived by his wife, Joan Carter Shell of High Point, NC; one son, Eric Denard Shell of the city; two sisters, Florence Shell Drummond and Mary shell both of the city; one brother, Marvin McFarland of the city; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. A Service of Memory will be held Saturday December 5, 2009 3pm at 1215 Cornwallis Street.
